MOSS VALE Rugby League Club is determined to enter a side into the under-18s this season after being unable to field one in 2009.
The club has appointed Bruce Noble to coach the side and he will have the assistance of the senior club’s other grade coaches, Willie McDonald and Matt Burke, along with other trainers and conditioners, to help develop the youngsters.
Noble is hoping to mix the training schedule up this year to ensure the players enjoy their training as well as their football.
The club invites all players that have played junior footy for Moss Vale or any other club that is interested in being part of a strong performing club both on and off the field to attend training next week.
Bruce Noble said the club would welcome back any player that had to move to another club last year to play as a result of the Moss Vale club not fielding a side.
He said he was targeting players such as Blair Palmer, Mitch Conquest, Aaron Cummings, Ashley Brown, Zac Butterfield and Kieran Bishop to try and get them back in the Dragons colours.
Noble is also very keen to get the crop of players who move up from Moss Vale’s under-16s side.
The side included very strong players such as Matt Thorpe, Dylan Menzies, Ryan Knight, Josh Drury, Luke Stewart, Luke Chapman and Jack Webb.
The team won the under-15 premiership two years ago and the club is confident that they will form a solid nucleus of an under-18 team. But they need to sign some of the older targeted players.
The Moss Vale club is proud of their junior footballers and thank the junior club for the guidance through to seniors.
But the club doesn’t want to see these players move to other clubs when Moss Vale has a strong senior club and this can help these players fulfill their dreams of playing in successful sides in the future.
