The Dragons stormed into their first Group 6 grand final in two decades with a 28-10 win over East Campbelltown at Picton yesterday.
Last night Picton and Oakdale were battling for the other spot in the Decider.
Moss Vale lead 12-4 at the half courtesy of tries to player-coach Willie MacDonald and Mark Delamont.
Shane Rofe capitalised on a Dan Drewe chip kick early in the second stanza to extend the lead to 18-4 before a bad read by Isaac Loader let the Eagles in for their second and closed the gap to 18-10.
The young winger failed to dive on a bouncing ball and Eagles’ second rower Michael Bradstock made the most of it.
Rhys Lenarduzzi gave the Dragons a comfortable 22-10 lead with 10 minutes to go before Robbie Noble scooted over to seal the win.
A late fight marred the win but no Dragon was put on report.
The excitement of the young stars was evident when Noble scored, as they knew it was enough to stave off a late East Campbelltown comeback.
