The Bowral Bunnies may all be big boys who like to pump iron, but unless they start pumping their legs and improve their fitness, their season will continue to spiral away.
Bowral were going toe-for-toe with the Oaks Tigers until halftime in their DNC Cup clash at Loseby Park on Saturday. But a woeful second half let the Tigers run away easy 42-12 winners.
The Tigers only led 16-12 at the break and, in what was even a surprise to the Bunnies faithful, Bowral had locked up the score 12-12 half an hour in through a Steve Rae try.
But the Bunnies had no answers for The Oaks quick backline, who carved them up down the sidelines, while Bowral tried to go too wide too early despite matching it in the ruck with the Tigers pack.
Tiger Gary Martin scored a hat-trick in the Oaks eight tires to two triumph and scored 30 unanswered points. Bowral defended bravely and denied several Tigers raids right on their try line.
