The Robertson Spuddies got back into the winners' circle last Saturday when they defeated Sussex Inlet 28-26 in their Group 7 Regan Cup clash at Sussex Inlet.
After being touched-up by the Albion Park Outlaws the previous week, the Spuddies got back on their feet against Sussex.
"We completed our sets of six and our ball control was better this game," said Spuddies captain-coach Brian Laidlow.
"Our defence still needs some work but it is better than it was against the Outlaws.
"We also had Grant Pointing back which gave us a bit more go-forward."
Best players for the Spuddies were hooker Doug Tilly and Pointing.
In other Spuddies news, Laidlow last week stood-down from the position of captain-coach of the side, citing work and family commitments.
The 33-year-old was captain-coach of the side last season, and still aims to be a part of the club, both on and off the field.
The Spuddies have named two player-coaches to take over the reigns for the remainder of the season.
