National skiing champion Kristi-Rose Pikkat has been voted Berrima District Junior Sportsperson of the Month for September.
Her exploits on the snowfields clinched her the award ahead of a strong field of contenders.
"It was a total surprise to be named the Berrima District Junior Sportsperson of the Month," Kristi-Rose said.
" When I got the letter it was totally unexpected."
From September 9-12 Kristi-Rose and school-mates from Frensham competed in the Subaru Australian Interschool Snowsports Championships at Perisher Blue in both individual and teams events.
The event attracted a total of 799 teams from 141 schools across Australia.
Kristi-Rose won the Australian Championship in division two in "alpine", or GS (giant slalom) and finished second in the ski-cross national championship.
