Young Highlands' boxing star Ben Ryan won silver at the national Golden Gloves titles at Caboolture, Queensland on Sunday.
Ryan fought above his 54 kg weight division, due to a lack of opponents, and took on Cain Cassels in the 57kg 17 year-old division.
It was close tactical fight but Cassels narrowly beat Ryan on points in the four round fight.
Steve Ryan said his son won the first round and the third was neck and neck but Cassels won the fourth round to take out the fight.
Ben said he was very happy with the fight against his old nemesis.
Steve Ryan said it was a big ask to beat Cassels in his home State.
