Robo under-15s score five in great display of soccer

Robertson/burrawang Soccer club

U11 years Game - Robertson 4 Bowral C 3

Three minutes into the game and Robertson's Bianca Benjamin scored with a perfectly lofted kick after Bowral had tried to clear the ball off their own line. Robo strikers, Nick Hann & Aaron Cupitt constantly tested the Bowral defence, as Robo's midfielder and chief play maker, Nathan MacGraw, played perfect through balls for the entire game. By half time Robo had a 3 to 0 lead over Bowral, with the Bowral upright preventing further Robo goals on a couple of occasions. At the start of the second half Nick Hann was again denied another scoring opportunity as his sliding final touch of the ball was deemed off side after a Tom Keft shot had beaten the Bowral goalkeeper. The latter part of the second half saw Robo's legs tire as they had no interchange players, and Bowral were able to pull 3 late goals back, one in the last 20 seconds of the game, to ensure an exciting ending to a well contested match. It was difficult in naming any outstanding players as all players from both sides applied themselves fully to the job at hand. Goal scores for Robertson were Nathan MacGraw with 1, Bianca Benjamin 1 & Nick Hann finished with 2. Bowral scorers were Matthew Bond with 2 and Jackson Collins 1. Both teams deserve congratulating on a great game, much enjoyed by the spectators present.

U14 years Game - Robertson 5 Trinity 0

This game was very much a one sided affair as Robertson dominated for the entire game. Trinity were only able to penetrate into Robo's end of the field on one occasion in the first half, with no threat to Robo's goal. Constant pressure by Robo, in particular by Josh Wilson, ensured goals would eventually come, and they did. Half time saw the score being 2-0 in Robo's favour. Numerous Robertson positional changes for the second session saw a much improved effort by Trinity as they were able to play a fair share of the half in Robo's side of the field, but Robo's attack, particularly down the right flank, continued to cause Trinity problems. Solid defence by the Robo backs guaranteed no goals were going to be scored against them. Three second half goals by Robertson saw the game finish 5-0. Goal scorers for Robertson were Josh Wilson with 2, Scott Fleming 1, Arthur Hollands 1 and Dan Fernandez with 1.

Div.3 Mens Game - Robertson 1 Exeter 2

In freezing conditions, and Robertson started the game with only 9 men for the first 10 minutes. It was expected that Exeter would 'pile on' the goals against an undermanned Robo outfit, but this wasn't to be the case. Robo went to an early lead through a fine goal by Adam Bartlett, and they maintained the lead for most of the match. Robertson could have easily gone on the defence to try and protect their lead, but to their credit they tried to extend their lead by playing attacking football. Playing most of the game with only 10 men, and Exeter having 4 or 5 interchange players, saw the Robo team eventually surrender the lead in the last 5 minutes of the game. An outstanding display by Robertson in a game in which they deseved at least a draw.
