1st Grade Women v Bowral
Score: Won 3-0
Robertson started this game with confidence and from this we saw the talent and skill which this young team have.
Maybe it was the turf or the good weather or maybe it has finally clicked that they have a good chance of taking out this years premiership. Robo’s attack in the first half was committed and strong and this was rewarded with three goals one each to Emma, Rachel and Catherine.
Bowral defended solidly but Robo’s persistant attack of the goal was unstoppable.
The second half saw Robo slow down a bit in attack, with Bowral eventually showing their attacking skills, these were met with solid Robo defence and the second half remained scoreless Robo particularly having many more scoring opportunities.
The whole Robo team combined well with their passing and trapping consistently good.
It was a very fine display of hockey from the girls! Their “mystery bus training session” (less Brooke, Kylie and Rachel who have to play hockey in Wagga!!!) will help give more confidence to this team.
Thanks to Mark Springett for his support at the game on Saturday and for supplying the girls with a after match “treat”.
Also once again, thank you for Col and Kell for their time and commitment. Let’s keep our heads down and our bums up for the final series. We are playing some great hockey and the sky is now the limit!
Under-14s v Bowral Bombers
Score: Won 4-2
This was the last game before the Semi’s and it was great to have a win. Lot’s of running had to be done and was found a bit difficult as the flu had taken hold with some of the team.
First half saw the ball being past around with great teamwork. The second half saw us a bit unorganised at times however we managed to put some great passes together to score 2 more goals.
Mathew was unlucky not to score. Jenna was in the right place at the right time and scored 2 goals. Ben was brilliant in the goals.
Overall a great team effort by everyone. McDonald’s Mittagong Player of the Week: Ben Wright.
