Robertson -Burrawang Cricket: Cricket season closing in

28 Sep, 2001 08:18 AM

Well the Cricket season starts after the long weekend, with the seniors playing their first game on October 6 and the juniors start on the October 13. We will be fielding a second and third grade in the seniors and U/12 and U/14 in the juniors.

The senior captains were elected at the club’s meeting on the September 24 and Mark “Wild Thing:” Watling was elected for second grade with Cliff “Donald” Tilley as his Vice Captain, Brad “Crim” Shepphard will captain third grade with Daniel “Gub” Robinson as his vice captain. Junior coaches were also elected with Rod “The Red” Watling taking the riens of the U/14’s and Wild Thing the U/12’s.

There will be a training session on the September 30 starting at 4:00pm at the Robertson fields and afterwards at the Robertson Bowling Club we will be having a sausage sizzle before we settle down to watch the football grand final. We will also be drawing our grand final raffle during the football, so if you havn’t got your ticket you can get one on the day.

Here’s looking forward to another great season on and off the field.

Until next time, The Cricket Critic.
