After rain cancelled the first grade cricket games of the year last week, cricket is set to take off for the year tomorrow- provided it doesn't rain.
With rain predicted over the weekend, play is doubtful for this weekend's first grade cricket games.
This weekend's games were originally scheduled to be the conclusion of last week's two-day games, but due to rain they are now slated as one day matches, assuming they are played.
In the local matches top placed Bowral United is set to take on competition underdogs Hill Top at Bradman Oval, while Moss Vale is set to face off against Wingello at Chater Oval.
Premiership firm-favourites Bowral are in a good position over Hill Top, who are currently sitting at the bottom of the ladder.
Moss Vale is also going into their match against Wingello in a strong position, despite getting off to a rough start at the beginning of the two-day seasons, with a dismal loss to Bowral United.
However Moss Vale player Scott McKie believes the recent wet weather and holiday season will mean both sides won't be at peak condition, because they haven't found the time to train.
"The way the weather has been, neither sides have really got any match practice at all," he said.
Moss Vale captain Michael Bull agrees.
"It's been that long since we played and this weekend's weather doesn't really look that good," he said.
"If we lose this weekend, it'll be six weeks of cricket we have lost.
"We'll just have to give it our best and see what happens."
But McKie's fears may be unfounded if their second grade side's destruction of Hill Top's second graders last weekend is any indication of how things are going to go for Moss Vale, then Wingello is in for an uphill fight.
Wingello is keen to play after languishing on the sidelines for so long due to a number of wash outs.
"I think we are all keen to just get out there and get a game on," said Wingello player Aaron Deegan.
"We've been on the bench too long, we just want to play a game, any game. I don't think we really mind who we play against."
In the Goulburn game tomorrow, Tully Park will face Coolavin at Kenmore Oval, while Workers are slated to battle Robertson/Burrawang at Prell.
