The Poms tour of torture looks set to continue with the announcement of a bruising Bradman XI side for next Wednesday's sold out one-dayer at Bradman Oval.
Any English hopes of an easy kill in the exhibition match were well and truly hit for six when the star-studded Aussie team was confirmed on Friday.
Skippered by recently axed test hero Mark Waugh, the line-up includes embattled brother Steve, former test player Mike Whitney, recalled test leg spinner Stuart McGill, Michael Slater, Simon Katich and a swag of emerging stars.
"We're extremely excited about this game and it's certainly one of the best teams to grace Bradman Oval," Alison Hyland from the Bradman Museum said.
"Mark (Waugh) is very honoured to be captain and it's no surprise that the match is completely sold out."
The last time the two sides met at Bradman in 1999, the Aussies scored a convincing 51 run victory.
The English are expected to field a near full strength side for the match which kicks off two days after the end of the Sydney test.
And while some of the Bradman side are household names, selectors were keen to inject a number of up and comers into the team..
Mark Waugh (c)- Needs no introduction. Prodigious run scorer and one of the games most elegant stroke makers. Will skipper twin brother Steve for the first time.
Mike Whitney (vc)- Former test opening bowler and likeable larrikin. Laconic style and Willie Mason hair makes him a crowd favourite. Patron of Bradman Foundation and great supporter of charity matches.
Steve Waugh- A true national hero. Embodies the Digger spirit with his steely grit and courage under fire. Approaching 10000 test runs but time at the helm of the Aussie side looks numbered.
Simon Katich- Much-hyped Sandgroper who was once touted as next Aussie captain. Effective left hand top order bat.
Stuart McGill- Brilliant leggy who turns the ball a mile. Should appreciate the receptive Bradman track and will be brimming with confidence after his recall to the Aussie test side. Has lived in the shadow of Warne but remains one of the world's best.
Michael Slater- Temperamental opening bat playing with much more maturity these days. Raw aggression with the willow in his hands and shouldn't have much trouble clearing the Bradman fence if he finds the middle.
Dominic Thornley- Young Albury all-rounder who's forced his way into the NSW one-day side. Outstanding fieldsman.
Greg Mail- Balmain and Blues opening bat and boasts a 150 in Pura Cup this season.
Douglas Bollinger- Cinderella story that's come from park cricket to state stardom in just 12 months. Left arm quick.
Nathan Pilon- NSW reserve keeper with huge talent. Leading runscorer in Sydney grade cricket and rumoured to be going interstate next season to get a gig as a regular starter in a state side.
Jamie Cox- Tasmanian tearaway batsman who many believe is one of the best players not to have pulled on the baggy green. Will be out to impress.
Shawn Bradstreet- Old man played league for Australia but this brilliant all-rounder stuck to the summer game. Has skippered NSW and should give the Poms curry next Wednesday.
