Max Peek’s superb swordmanship has not gone unnoticed with the 15 year-old taking out the Berrima District Junior Sportsperson of the Year Award on Friday night.
Peek won four national titles including the under-20s eppe, under-20s team, under-15s foil and Schools boys foil team.
Not surprisingly the Oxley fencing team took out the School’s Team of the Year award. Peek said he was surprised to have won the award and plans to compete in the nationals opens fencing circuit this year. He said taking out the under-20s eppe title, against fencers fours years older than him, was his highlight of the year.
