After 12 months of heartache and disappointment, the Sydney Swifts netball team have the chance to right a few wrongs at 4.30pm tomorrow afternoon.
And Bowral-born Sarah Barrett will play a key role in helping the Swifts wrestle the Commonwealth Bank Trophy from two-time champions and Grand Final opponents, the Melbourne Phoenix.
Barret spoke to the News prior to heading into camp with her team-mates.
"It's time for us to get some revenge," Barrett said with steely determination. "Last year we didn't even contemplate losing, so we were all so disappointed. We definitely want to avoid that feeling again, and that loss made us all realise how much we want it this time around."
The Swifts were the first of the two title aspirants to reach the decider, before Melbourne joined them after edging out Adelaide last weekend.
"They're obviously a good team because they've done it in the past," Barrett said of their foes. "But I'm confident the calibre and experience we have can get us home."
The speedy Barrett predicts her role will involve alternating between distributing from centre and wing attack.
