The division one men's soccer competition is shaping up as a two-horse race after eight rounds.

Northern Highlands' teams Yerrinbool A and Hill Top are the front running teams at the moment in the combined division one and two competition, with only one loss between them in 16 matches.

The men from Yerrinbool remain the only unbeaten team with eight wins and a goal difference of plus 42, while Hill Top's only slip up came against Yerrinbool a few weeks ago, with the side scoring 22 more goals than it has let in.

Hill Top was in trouble in its match against Moss Vale B on the weekend and was down 1-0 at the break, before getting two back in quick succession.

Mossy then squared things up again, before Hill Top unleashed its full attacking arsenal with a further three goals.

Dean Felber and Wayne Johnston were among Hill Top's goal scorers and were also close to the side's best on the park.

This weekend Hill Top takes on Yerrinbool's second side at Yerrinbool with the side expected to continue it's winning ways.

Yerrinbool A meanwhile, fresh from a 5-1 drubbing of Bundanoon, face Moss Vale A also at Yerrinbool.

Hill Top (21 points) enjoys a four point break on Patris A (17) in third place with Highland Rovers making up the top four on 12.

At the end of the season the top four teams will play off for the division one title and the next four will play off for division two, with Yerrinbool B leading that title race on 10 points.

Moss Vale B is next on eight, followed closely by Bundanoon, Robertson and Moss Vale A with Patris B last on one point.

In other top grade matches this weekend, the Mossy Bs face the Highland Rovers at Church Road, Patris B plays Robertson and Patris A clashes with Bundy.

Exeter is the leading force in the division three premiership with five wins from six games.

They enjoy a three-point break on Hill Top, who is also the only side in the comp to have won more games than they have lost.

Highland Rovers and Robertson have both won two games, while Mittagong is yet to register its first win for the season.

In this weekend's matches, Exeter hosts the struggling Mittagong while Highland Rovers and Robertson play at the neutral venue of Church Road in Moss Vale.

In the women's competition, Moss Vale B remain the only unbeaten side after thrashing Spirit 8-1 on Saturday.

Following that result Spirit find themselves in fourth position, just behind MBK and Robertson, who the Goulburn-based side will play at Hampden Park on Saturday.
