As it is getting towards the end of November, The Berrima District Sports Awards committee is gearing up for the second last vote of the year... November’s Sportsperson of the Month.

The committee meets next Tuesday so all nominations must be received by then. Please help the Sports Awards committee to recognise achievements in our area.

The committee needs to know the person’s achievements for the month, plus a contact phone number and their date of birth so they can be classified junior or senior; a Junior is anyone who is 16 years of age or younger on 1st January this year. Everyone else is a Senior.

The two winners will receive their awards at the annual Berrima District Sports Awards presentation dinner at Mittagong RSL next February 22nd.

Everyone nominated for November is also eligible for the prestigious Sportsperson of the Year award, to be announced at the annual presentation.

Sports Team of the Year

Apart from individual monthly sports awards and the senior and junior Sportsperson of the Year, teams are also recognised for their achievements. Nominations for senior and junior “Team of the Year” are now open.

Any sporting team in the district is eligible. Please include as much information as possible, including names of all team members, results of all games played and a contact person and phone number.

Team of the Year will also be announced next February.

Footnote: The Berrima District Sports Awards committee would like to congratulate one of its own, Wendy Howard and husband Peter, on the birth of their twin sons Jack and Darcy. Any excuse to get out of meetings! Wendy will be back when voting for Sportsperson of the Year gets under way.
