Natasha is riding high

17 Apr, 2003 07:58 AM
Young Bowral rider Natasha Reynolds is recording outstanding success at this year's Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Fifteen-year-old Natasha from Sandown Farm in Bowral has earned herself a second and a third place, as well as qualifying for the National Finals for Australian Stock Horse Junior Judging.

Natasha, who has been riding horses for about six years, is competing in her third Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Natasha earned second place in the Open Ridden Gelding class, and third place in the Australian Stock Horse Hack competition.

She also earned fourth place in the Girl Rider Turnout.

Natasha competed in these classes riding Blue Thunder, better known by his nickname of Josh.

'Josh' has taken part in the Royal Easter Show before, with good success for his former owner.

But under Natasha's hand, Josh has made this year his most successful yet.

"My results are very pleasing, I'm very happy with the way things are going," Natasha said.

Natasha attributes her new-found confidence in a school-holiday training school that she attended in Gilgandra.

"I went to a training camp at Glenlee Australian Stock Horse Stud run by David and Sue Nicholson,"

"The things I learned there have made an improvement to my riding that is just out of sight,"

Natasha has more events to come in the next few days, including a parent-child event in which she will compete with her mother.
