Aylmerton greyhound trainer Andrew Bayliss has high hopes of a big win this Thursday night at Dapto Dogs with one of his dogs, Cawbourne Chelse, contesting the $40,000 Glendon Motors Holden Puppy Auction Classic Final.
Cawbourne Chelse was in the 2003 puppy auction at Dapto and Bayliss bought her from a friend once she started racing.
He has owned Cawbourne Chelse since April, with the talented racer picking up $10,000 in prize money.
"In 30 starts she has won seven races," said Mr Bayliss.
"She's won four at Dapto, one at Wentworth Park and a couple at Richmond."
Secretary of the Dapto Greyhound Club Wayne Billett said the race is the final eight dogs of the 346 that were sold at auction in April last year.
"The dogs were aged between four and nine months and cost between $500 and $10,000," Billett said.
"Andrew has been a long term participant in greyhounds and it is great to see him and his family get a dog through to the final."
