The Highland Hawks three teams recorded two wins and a loss away to Kiama Lightning on Sunday.
The Hawks under-10s maintained second spot on the table after whitewashing the Lightning 84 to 0.
The scoring was evenly spaced throughout the four quarters as the Hawks cantered to their easiest win of 2004. These youngsters have improved every week but, after defeating Kiama 36-14 earlier in the season, they weren't expecting such a one-sided contest.
The Hawks players swooped on everything, applying good pressure that certainly paid off, as the goal umpires struggled to keep up with their rampant scoring.
For the Hawks Dane Jensen (3), Liam Griffiths (3) and Sarah Griffiths (2) were the multiple goal scorers.
The defence can also be very proud of the way they kept the Kiama forwards scoreless for the whole game.
Coach Tim Farrell was smiling after the success.
"It was a great effort by all of our players," he said. "We were hand-passing and looking for our support players consistently for the first time and it really showed. This win was a real team effort."
Each quarter saw a number of positional changes, as the rules in this division require players to rotate, giving everybody a turn in defence, attack and midfield.
The high-flying Hawks will now meet the Tigers in the major semi-final next week.
"We haven't beaten them yet but with teamwork like today, we could be a big chance," Farrell said.
