A left hander with a good shot makes Sharks’ player John Kelly a threat to any side in the A grade competition.
Bowral water polo committee person Lyn Douglass said Kelly was a handy player to have on the team as he could shoot from the opposite side.
“Over winter he has played for the University of NSW side which has made a big difference in his game and a big improvement from last year,” she said. “He is a quick swimmer and good for a fast break.”
Following in his brother’s footsteps, Kelly began playing water polo four years ago.
The 16-year-old said the highlight of his career was being selected for the NSW Country under-20 squad in February.
Training for the squad takes place soon so Kelly is pushing for a spot in the side for the tournament, which starts later this year.
