Bowral Junior Touch is headed for a bumper year summer competition judging from the success of the Associations Coaching Clinic on Saturday. About 100 children attended the morning's activities which was held at Eridge Park while more than 100 youngsters registered for the summer competition which begins on October 22.

The coaching clinic focussed on developing game and referee skills passed on to the youngsters by some of Australia and New South Wales' leading coach, players and referees. These included Country NSW mixed open coach, Ken Adcock, representative players, Dave Elliott and Natalie Dare and National and state referees, Brian Smith, Mick Hamilton and Darren Meyers, all of whom hail from the Bowral Club.

Association spokesperson, Jackie Meyers, said it became obvious during the morning's activities that there was a great deal of talent among the local youngsters.

"Not only do we have a great representative base with our seniors but the future of the Bowral Association also looks bright if the talent shown during Saturday's coaching clinic is any indication."

The Bowral junior summer competition begins on Tuesday, October 22 and is open to all school age youngsters up to 14 years with divisions including boys and girls under 8s, 10s, 12s and 14s. Registration is $20 per child and will continue to be accepted up to and including October 22. All those who have nominated to play but not yet paid are reminded that they must be financial before taking the field.
