The club wanted to thank them for their continued support of the club, located adjacent to our course it is the ideal place to stay for a golf holiday.
The predicted rain did not eventuate last weekend as the sunny all be it cool days continued, this made for perfect golf conditions for our July medal field.
Captain John Alison made special of the greens staff during presentation as they continue to present the course to us in very good condition.
The working bee held recently was a great success and thank you to all those members that turned up and gave their time.
Craig Munsie won the A grade by shooting 75 of the stick for a net 66, Steve Shute was the runner up with a net 67 and Alan Bray was the scratch winner with 74.
John Jack led the way in B grade with 83 of the stick for a net 67 on a countback from Laurie Banfield also on 67.
Michael Abouchabake was the scratch winner with 82.
David Daley triumphed in C grade with 88 of the stick for a net 68 to win by two shots from Peter Degan who had a net 70.
The scratch winner was Ian Steptoe with 91.
The club had nine ladies in the field and Lee Binns took out the honours with 37 points from the runner up, Rhonda Norman with 31 points.
In the sundries Larry Mineham won the Pro’s nearest the pin on the second, Larry won two balls and a voucher to the value of $134.
The 12th went to Peter Huthnance and the 15th was won by our club professional with 37cms.
The birdie hole was the 12th and was not won and will jackpot to four balls next week.
The eagles nest was not won and will also jackpot to three balls next week.
We had 133 players for the medals and the course rating for the day was 69, if you wanted to win a ball then you needed net 70 or better on a countback.
Last Wednesday we played a 2BBB aggregate and the winners were the team off Steven Fairburn and Peter Butler who combined to score 79 points.
The winner of the singles was Pat Haigh with 42 points, Dave Debbs won the nearest the in on the second and Steve Fairburn won the 15th.
If you wanted a ball you needed 36 points.
This year we are running a great golf day in conjunction with the British Open.
On Sunday the open championship we are holding at woman ambrose and the first prize is a return trip to play the Dunes course in Melbourne, airfares transfers and accommodation all included.
The cost will be $25 for members and $40 for non-members.
