Hill Top bowlers clean up

24 Feb, 2006 08:57 AM
Under-12 captain Joel Moran took four wickets in successive balls against Moss Vale Rangers at Boronia recently to set up a good victory for Hill Top.

Starting his spell halfway through the Rangers' innings, Joel took his first wicket with the very first ball of his first over and then took three more in a row to give him this rare feat.

He finished his spell with the figures of four for eight.

Joel also effected a fine run out and top scored with 29 while sharing in a 64-run opening partnership with Billy Meuleman (22) to set up another win for the side.

The U-12s again had a fine win against SHCS at Tourist Road last Saturday.

Stand in captain Kye Wills won the toss and sent SHCS in to bat.

A great bowling and fielding effort by HNVCC had them eight for 55 at the end of the allotted overs.

Kye Wills took four for six, Sophie Kiannen two for four and Connor Rawlings two for seven.

In reply, Hill Top made seven for 56 with Wills top-scoring with 30 not out.

Second-grade had their first win of the season in the recent match against Wingello at Welby, mainly due to a Steve Koski hat-trick and a very good batting double by Nathan Manty. Batting first HNVCC scored 142 with Manty (46) and Steve Koski (40) batting well.

They then dismissed Wingello for 57 with Steve Koski four for seven, Josh Short two for two, Jamie Milat one for none, Nathan Manty one for nine and Graham Pike one for 17. They were helped by a great run-out by Short.
