Six Highlands players have been chosen in the combined Highlands-Goulburn representative cricket side.
Highlands players make up half of the 12-man squad for the Burns Cup over the October long weekend, after the Highlands beat Goulburn in Sunday's rep trial at Chater Oval.
Goulburn won the toss and chose to bat on a beautifully prepared Chater Oval pitch, but a combination of tight bowling and rusty batting saw them dismissed for 179 in 48 overs.
Opener Justin Rowling and first drop Kurt Miller were the mainstays of the Goulburn innings, with Rowling retiring after reaching his half century while Miller was caught behind by Aaron Fox off the bowling of Dean Roxburgh for 46.
Roxburgh finished with the best figures of 3-37, with Paul Davidson (2-27) and Scott Manley (2-25) picking up two wickets each.
Highlands used the full 50 overs allocated to reach the target with Nathan Cameron top scoring with 56 before he was also forced to retire.
Matt McKoy smashed a handy 33 before he was bowled by Mick Webber, while at the top of the order Aaron Fox contributed 20 valuable runs.
The wickets were shared by the Goulburn attack with Webber, Aaron Grant, Tia Batina and Ben Holgate the successful bowlers.
The team named for the Southern Zone Burns Cup, to be played in Goulburn from October 4-6, has an even mix of Goulburn and Highlands players and will be skippered by Goulburn's Kurt Miller.
Bowral's Nathan Cameron is the vice captain and is joined in the side by fast bowler Paul Davidson, keeper Aaron Fox, batsmen Luke Reurich and Stewart McPherson and all rounder Scott Manley.
