A grand slam performance is expected from five of the Highlands best tennis aces when they tour New Zealand from December 7-24.
Jono Downs, Robert Grant, Ben Warburton, Caedyn Stinson and Jarrod Morgan will show what Bowral has to offer when they shape up 'our' Trans Tasman rivals for the New Zealand junior circuit.
16-year-old Jono Downs said New Zealand were considered to have the best juniors in the world.
"It's an elite competition and only the best participate," he said.
"So it's a great opportunity to compete in such a prestigious competition.
"It gives you a whole new look on what is out there and to see what level others are playing at.
"They (New Zealand) are pretty good. We definitely know that after playing against them in Melbourne during September."
Downs said he had competed in the New Zealand tournament three times and had picked up a few cash prizes along the way.
"Some of us have been there before so we know what to expect," he said.
"It's a tough tournament, 18 days of full on tennis action."
He said the five would be part of a 40-person squad from Australian and that they would compete in Hamilton, Gisborne and Auckland at the Davis Cup Centre.
