The Southern Highland's sole contender for Rugby League glory, Moss Vale, kicked off the pre-season with a win over Group 6/7's newest team, Mt Annan at Moss Vale Community oval.
A short struggle saw the Moss Vale Dragons leading most of the game, sitting comfortably with a 12-6 lead at half-time.
They finished the game ahead 18-10, a promising start to this year's season.
Meanwhile, Albion Park stood firm on their home ground against last year's minor premiers, Narellan, 42-8.
Last year's premiers Picton showed that they have lost nothing with a strong 18-0 win over Warilla.
Thirlmere, which has added Robbie Mears and Jamie Newton to its 2006 strength, staged a great win over Oakdale 28-6.
Goulburn and Nowra put on a entertaining game at Nowra Showground and it was semi-final stuff as first Nowra led 6-0 only to see Goulburn storm home to win 14-12.
