The under-18s rugby league Moss Vale Dragons were the toast of the town at Saturday night’s club presentations at Community Oval.
The undefeated premiers were all presented with premiership jackets that they can wear with pride for years to come.
They were the first Moss Vale team to bring a title back to Community Oval in 17 years and the first under-18s team to do it in 27 years.
It was fitting that the player who captained them to their last under-18s title in 1980, Owen Saunders, coached them to the title this year.
The young Dragons had a terrific year and finished the season without dropping a game on their way to taking out the under-18Bs title.
The fairy tale looked in jeopardy in the grand final when Matt Conquest was sent off but the boys rallied to run out easy winners against the Narellan Jets.
The night was not all about the under-18s with the other star being Mark Knight.
Knight was honoured with a life membership which was presented by club great Billy Saunders.
