Former Oxley and Chevalier College student Eliza Stankovich joined the Australian Olympic medal-winning frenzy in Athens earlier in the week.
The 22-year-old narrowly missed out on securing gold in the women's 800m wheelchair final, having to settle for silver behind Canada's Chantal Petitclerc.
Stankovich led the invitation event after 400 metres, but couldn't hold out the fast-finishing Canuck who recorded an Olympic record time of 1 minute 53.66 seconds.
In what was a thrilling photo finish, Stankovich's crossed the line in 1 minute 53.84 seconds, while Australian Paralympic legend Louise Sauvage picked up the bronze.
Stankovich, a member of the NSW Institute of Sport, also performed admirably in the 2000 Sydney Paralympics and is fast becoming one of the premier wheelchair athletes in Australia - and the world.
And she could still increase her medal haul.
Stankovich still has events to come in the Games and will be looking to add a gold medal to her 800-metre silver.
