BURRADOO Polocrosse Club won two division finals at the NSW championships in Bungendore over the long weekend.
The A-mixed and the C-mixed teams took out their events.
It was a remarkable effort for the club, which fielded five teams for two wins.
The A-mixed team included Allan Gilpin, Bruce Greenslade, Rod Edwards, Belinda Tarlington, Lauren Rhodwell and Sam Shields.
Gilpin also won the award for best number one player in the division.
The C-mixed team beat Canberra in their final. The team was made up of Adam Dickson, Paul Adams, Kyal Martin, Jenny Bell, Ainslie Corbie and Annie Anderson.
The Burradoo players scooped the awards pool in C-mixed with Dickson named best number one player, Adams best number two and Anderson best number three.
While the seniors’ results were astounding, the Club was particularly proud of the junior team.
Six kids aged 10-14 saddled up against older and stronger opposition.
But Burradoo’s juniors never gave up.
The junior team included Dan Cormie, Isaac Martin, Riley Edwards, Adam Rhodwell, Tom Gilvarry and Emily Dickson.
The Club’s attention has now turned to the Southern Highlands zone championships at Bong Bong Picnic Racecourse this weekend.
Players from Burradoo, Lake George, Canberra, Hall, Eurocoast, Sydney and Yass will vie for Southern Highlands zone team places, to enable them to play at the zone championships in Young this August.
The NSW team will be picked based on performances at Young.
