The Winter fields are growing with 143 starters enjoying a great event where you really had to be on your thinking game for the whole round as it was a two person team where it was a 4bbb on the front nine and an aggregate stableford on the back nine with an individual in conjunction.
Our thanks to the day's sponsors, Ken and Mick Wallace from Wallace Auto Electrics in Campbelltown as it was an
interesting event and our thanks to the Wallaces for their support to our club.
Young Matthew Stocken found form after a couple of years recording his best round to date to win the individual with a great 42 points and also teamed up with another in-form junior Nick Talbert, to win the team event with a very good 60 points. Well played boys.
Matt's father Martin teamed up with Liam O'Riordan to be runners up with an impressive 57 points so plenty of celebrations in the Stocken camp on Saturday night.
Rob Gilroy and Jeff Carey are making a habit of winning four ball scratch events of late and last Saturday was no different as they won again with a good 40 scratch points.
Mick Hyland needed a countback to win the individual runners up trophy on 41 points from Matt Feary.
For the first time in my 15 years at the club, every trophy winner was present at the presentations to collect their prizes and it is a great sight to see.
Stuart Denholm knocked it only 16cm on the fourth to win NTP, J Kemp from Antill Park won the 12th, Billy Gould won the over 55s on the 18th and Graham Sawtell won the drive and pitch on the 18th.
The Eagles Nest will jackpot to 12 balls next week.
The CCR was at 71 and the ball comps went down to 52 on a countback in the team event and to 33 points in the individual.
This coming Saturday is the Don Fleming Memorial Trophy and is an event we don't play very often, Par.
As it is the end of the financial year this weekend, we are having a massive stocktake sale so if you're in the market for any golf gear, this weekend is the time to buy.
Why not buy for Christmas and save big time. We have golf shoes from $28.50, golf bags from $75 and shirts from $25.
I will be around this weekend so come in and see me for a great deal.
The badge draw this coming Friday night is up to $650 so well worth being in the club at 7pm this coming Friday and of course you can still get a
well priced meal for the whole family and the usual raffles and spin and win prizes are up for grabs.
