Bowral batted through drizzle to secure a first innings victory over Wingello in the teams' first encounter since last year's first grade grand final.
Stuart MacPherson, who was unbeaten on 28 at stumps on day one, failed to add to his score when play resumed at Bradman Oval on Saturday.
His partner, Aaron Brook, however, carried on to make a big score.
Brook, who started the day on 16, lifted his score to 89 before falling leg before wicket to part-timer Jeff Guy.
Captain Nathan Cameron, the in-form batsman of the competition, scored 42, with Brook receiving further support from Sinclair Chick (43) and Dean Roxburgh (41).
The lower middle-order batsmen, who have not spent a great deal of time at the crease so far this summer, could not have done a better job, according to Cameron.
But with Bowral firming as favourites to win the first grade premiership, the Southern Zone representative believes batting is an area of little concern.
Despite the win in the absence of frontline seamers Scott Manley and Paul Davidson, Cameron told The News that his side's bowling attack needed more venom.
"We really need to improve on our bowling," said Cameron.
"We need a bit more penetration.
"We can win the competition with our batting, but we'll have to continually score big totals unless we can find more form with the ball."
Saturday's match was called to a halt about an hour and a half before the scheduled finish because of the rain and the fact neither side believed they could achieve an outright victory.
