Defending premiers Bowral kept the club's stellar Whyte Cup record in tact by downing a brave Robertson in Saturday's first grade final at Lackey Park.
The decisive 3-1 win over the perennial bridesmaids now gives Bowral's top side eight of the last ten Whyte Cup titles.
One of the longest running continuous hockey tournaments in Australia, the cup brings together the top four teams from all three men's grade's in a revised round robin format.
In a frenetic first grade final, Bowral had to overcome an early 1-0 deficit and score a second half hattrick to claim the coveted trophy.
Brilliant centre half Ron Allen scored Bowral's first goal from a short corner and inner Wade Bedson put his side in front after pouncing on a lucky bounce off the goal post.
Jason Dawes put the issue beyond doubt late in proceedings with a deflection inside the circle from a cross.
Best players for Bowral throughout the four match tournament were Wade Bedson, John Bunter and Jason Dawes while for Robertson, Steve Tuddenham, Nathan Anderson, Scott Denney, Damien Gair and Daniel Campbell played strongly.
The tournament started in 1932 and has seen some cracking encounters over the years but is now played mainly as a social day to counter the rigours of a long season.
Well-respected Robertson mentor Mark Springett got into the spirit of the occasion, bringing a curious coaching method to his team for the lead up to the cup.
During a midweek training session, Springett stunned his team by pulling names from an envelope and randomly matching them with a position they would not normally play.
"It was a novel thing but it gives players more of an appreciation of positions," he said.
"We really try to enjoy the Whyte Cup and it's a chance to work a few things out with no pressure."
The Robertson club extracted some revenge in the second grade decider though with the premiership favourites scoring an impressive 2-1 victory over Bowral.
Last year's runners up Berrima claimed the third grade final, running out narrow 1-0 winners over Moss Vale.
