Bowral takes out 2006 premiership

27 Mar, 2006 07:23 AM
Bowral United took out the grand final with a first innings win over Moss Vale at Bradman Oval at the weekend.

Moss Vale's first innings saw them reach 92 reasonably quickly with a decent batting effort.

Openers Tony Freidrich (14) and Aaron Canestrari (5) made a good start to the innings. After that things stopped cold for the Moss Vale batting line-up.

Next up, Mathew Heyhorn was caught out for a duck by Cameron Belshaw and things continued to worsen for Moss Vale, as Bowral put in an excellent bowling and fielding effort that kept the batsmen cautious.

Bowral's bowling continued to take a heavy toll on Moss Vale, Belshaw took four wickets for only 32 runs, while Scott Spence grabbed three for 34.

Nathan Cameron added to last year's premier's misery, taking another three for 10.

Mathew Arnull proved to be pick of the batters for Moss Vale, making 19 runs before he was bowled by Cameron.
