Bowral Golf Club Lamb claims captain’s trophy

Brian Lamb, a past club captain, won the Bowral Golf Club Captain’s Trophy for the clubs Centenary year.

The card returned was 67 net in a stroke round.

On Wednesday the event was individual stableford when John Mulholland returned the best card of 38 points runner up was Sam Hunt with 36 points on a countback ball winners were the above players plus the following: Gerry Katekar, Eric Ginn, Terry Beach, John Landrigan, Brian Lamb, Pascal Timores, Bob Hutchison, Michael Brown, Jim Sharpe, Charles Vaughan-Smith, Peter Keys, Andrew Rumble and Nigel Scott-Miller to 32 points on a countback.

Nearest to pin at the 11th was Michael Richardson and at the 14th Andrew Rumble.

Graeme McGregory was runner up in the Captains Trophy on Saturday with 69 net on a countback in a stroke event.

Ball winners were Brian Lamb (winner) Graeme McGregor, Ray Almaide, Alan Wigzell, John Mulholland, Warwick Keirnan, Malcolm Welsman, Andrwe Rumble, Michael Brown, Don Barsby, Linden Toll, Brian Hanrahan, Alan Reid, Jim Bootz, Geoff Hammond, David McGinnes, Gordon Keith and Bill Chrystal to 74 net on a countback.

Andrew Rumble was best scratch with 77.

Nearest to pin at the 11th was Philip Watson and at the 14th Jim Phillips.

Events for the coming week include an individual stableford on Wednesday and par on Saturday for J M Stanford Trophy.
