Group 6 secretary John Dayball has expressed disgust about Bowral's forfeit against Mittagong on Sunday saying that they could face a fine.
Bowral forfeited five minutes before the game was expected to start due to the lack of players despite the fact the under-18 were going to back up.
Dayball said in the past teams that forfeited on the day were fined and that the Group 6 management committee would not take this incident lightly.
"I am disgusted because this is a team that wanted to play first grade," he said.
Mittagong assistant coach Bob Hall said his side was devastated they could not play.
"We had strapped the players and they were warming up before Bowral came over saying that they didn't have enough numbers," he said.
"We were lost for words, we were at the pub afterwards and all the players had their heads down because they missed out on a game of footy."
Bowral treasurer Mick Hyland said it was unfair for the players to forfeit minutes before the game was the start.
"We've had a rough run of injuries and we don't knock the players forfeiting, we (the Bowral committee) were just disappointed when they did it," he said.
Group 6 management committee met last night to discuss the issue so see Friday's Southern Highland News for full results of the meeting.
