Two Highlands players have been chosen in the Southern Zone team to compete in the Southern NSW Country Championships next month.
Bowral United team mates Scott Manley and Nathan Cameron will fly the local flag at the three day carnival, to be played at Barooga in south west NSW from November 7-9.
Right hand batsmen Cameron and spinning allrounder Scott Manley were rewarded for their solid performances in the recent Burns Cup competition with selection in a Zone team dominated by South Coast players.
Eight players from the 2003 Burns Cup champion team were selected in the squad, with Oak Flats batsman Kerry Penfold chosen as skipper.
Highlands-Goulburn had the next best representation with three players with promising Goulburn allrounder Kurt Miller joining Cameron and Manley in the 13-man outfit.
Cameron scored 127 runs at 42.33 during the Burns Cup including a top score of 72, while Manley impressed with his left arm finger spin with best figures of 2/20.
In his only appearance for United this season, Cameron was very impressive, smashing an unbeaten 128 against Hill Top two weekends ago.
