Bowral Blacks seconds will face one of their biggest clashes this year when they meet Tech Waratahs for the Illawarra District semifinal at Eridge Park tomorrow.
Seconds coach Will Collett said discipline, a good attitude and no complacency were the keys to winning the clash.
"We have two bites at the cherry but its important to win so we can go straight through to the final," he said.
"It will come down to our willingness to win.
"It will be good for the side to open up and express themselves, which is what you want for this part of the season."
However, Collett said it would be no mean feat as Tech had a good pick and drive game and would have a strong inside presence that could cause a scrappy game.
"We have good discipline, a great defensive pattern and pace out wide so we should be right," he said.
"I will be looking for our strong men like Tony Woodham and Gregor Black to muscle up and for Peti Fereti and Baedon Terry to play a hard game."
The Bowral Blacks second grade team is: 1. Darren James, 2. Sean Robb, 3. Ben Ireland, 4. Baedon Terry, 5. Peti Fereti, 6. Doug Thorpe, 7. Gregor Black, 8. John Ewing, 9. Damien Tyson, 10. Lane McCarthy, 11. Chris Boyce, 12. Cameron James, 13. Aaron Melverton, 14. Daniel Marmont, 15. Dallas Simpson. Reserves: Chris Petersen, James Lowe, Mark Freund, Chris Brauers, Tony Woodham, Andrew Hindmarsh.
In other semifinal news the Bowral thirds will meet Kiama on Sunday at Campbelltown and assistant coach Jason Silm says his team will have to watch out for Kiama's strength in the scrums.
"Our scrum performance last time was poor and the forwards didn't lay a good platform for the backs to perform," he said.
"Basically we are a committed team, we just need to work together and fix our weaknesses from last time we played."
