The Bowral Blacks have continued their slow start to the season after being defeated by Kiama 39-3 on Saturday at Kiama Showground.
The Blacks saw seven tries scored against them by a raging Kiama, who have started the season strongly by defeating premiers TechTahs in the opening round of the competition.
In the first 20-minutes of the match, the Blacks played superb football and defended well, with Kiama having the bulk of possession and constantly attacking the Blacks' line.
The Blacks were able to find some good field position when they had the ball, and an Adam Allen chip put the side in Kiama territory before some good defence by Bowral forced a Kiama mistake.
Shortly after, Kiama conceded the Blacks a penalty, and with Allen converting the Blacks were leading 3-0 in the 25th minute.
That was the only time the Blacks led in the match, and in the last 10 minutes of the half Kiama ran in three tries to lead 17-3 at the break.
The second half of the match was a real arm wrestle between the forward packs, with Blacks flanker Tom Fleming and lock Michael Krebbs leading the much smaller Bowral pack against the giant Kiama pack.
The Blacks did find themselves in good field position several times in the second half, however, ball security and defensive lapses handed Kiama four unanswered tries in the second half.
Blacks co-coach Rob Taylor said that he was disappointed the Blacks did not turn up in defence.
