Highlands United are back in the top eight, with one round to go after drawing 0-all with the top-of-the-table Shellharbour Workers team on Saturday.
After losing three games in a row, including an embarrassing 3-1 loss to bottom-of-the-table Berkeley last week, the United team put in a solid effort to keep the Workers winless.
After a few weeks of lacklustre performances, United coach Steve Normansell said he was pleased to see his team push themselves in the Workers match.
"Overall we're very happy with the result," he said.
"For the last few weeks I've been saying that the boys haven't been turning up, but today they all turned up as individuals and they played together as a team.
"We had harsh words with the team during the week and before the match, and they went out there today and played to their potential.
"If (Workers had) beaten us today they would have won the comp, so we're happy to have a draw against them.
