The old heads of Polar Bears managed to contain the younger agile All Stars to a 4-4 draw during Monday's water polo clash at Mittagong Pool.
Polar Bears captain Nick Campbell-Jones said his team "waddled" into the pool with their grey heads expecting a bit of fun.
"The younger team a little bit more serious unlike us, who, whenever someone did something stupid we would cheer them on," he said.
"I think we are the only team in it just for the fun of it."
Despite the draw, Campbell-Jones said it was a very ordinary game.
"Nobody really played that well," he said.
"The All Stars were a bit short and got weary."
Campbell-Jones said his best players were John Anderson who scored a couple of good shots from a distance.
"He couldn't rely on passes up close," he said.
"And for a 70-odd-year-old bloke Ray Smee was great in defence."
Considering All Stars were one player down, captain Tom Flemming said they did well.
Flemming said Phil Hudson and Bob Greenwood were out due to work commitments.
"It was pretty much goal for goal," he said.
"We would swim all the way up the pool to score then they would do the same back."
