Spuds’ Mauger sees red

06 May, 2009 10:44 AM
MITTAGONG asserted its first grade men’s hockey resurgence with a 3-2 win over Robertson on Sunday.

It was the Lions’ first win over Robertson in over two years and caps off a solid start to the season.

Mittagong coach Glen Isedale said his side was focused on finishing inside the top two Highlands teams, after a lean period over the past few seasons.

“It was a good game, it really could have gone either way,” Isedale said.

“We’ll try and get in the top two Highlands teams and obviously to make the Illawarra competition semi finals would be nice.”

Robertson’s running forward Matt Mauger booked himself a date with the judiciary tomorrow night after he was sent off.
