After taking out the NSW division one hockey title in 2007 and earning their spot in the State League for 2008, the Southern Highlands Opens Women Hockey team have been denied their rightful place with the state’s best.
The Highlanders were set to make their debut in the top league this year.
The fiasco surrounding the relegation of Orange to division one and the promotion of the Highlanders to the top league was officially resolved recently.
Hockey NSW informed the Southern Highlands Hockey Association that the original ruling of the competition committee to suspend the relegation/promotion would stand.
Southern Highlands Hockey president Glen Isedale was less than happy with the ruling.
