Illawarra take out state title at home

ILLAWARRA made the most of their home field advantage at the open men’s indoor championships held at Unanderra over the weekend.

Illawarra won both the division one and division two final, while Crookwell won division three.

The Southern Highlands entered teams in the top two divisions and both teams progressed to the finals.

The division one team lost to Illawarra 12-6 in the semi-final after trailing 4-2 at halftime.

The team won three of its five pool games despite only having one substitute for the entire weekend.
