Burrawang and Moss Vale share top spot

22 Apr, 2008 03:33 PM
Burrawang’s first-grade women’s hockey team share top spot with Moss Vale following their 3-0 win over Bowral at Welby on Saturday.

Moss Vale are also undefeated after two rounds after the 2007 finalists exacted their revenge on four-time defending champions Robertson with a 5-1 drubbing on Friday night.

Burrawang led 2-0 at half-time and captain Brooke Allen said the team attacked well.

“We have gone from not being able to score goals and win games to doing just that, it is a fresh start this year,” she said.

Allen said the team’s ball transfers were good and their defence, lead by Amber Woods, was solid.

Toni Parrish hit home the first and third goals, while Amy Hill knocked in the second.
