IN the first week of competition for 2012, Chevalier College started on a high with only five losses in the ISA comp.
All the girls basketball teams were successful, with the Firsts beating the Blue Mountains 60-39.
The Seconds defeated St Pauls 35-11 while the rest of the teams also faced Blue Mountains.
Intermediate As won 25-14, the Junior As had a closer match at 23-17 while the Junior Bs snuck home with an 18-14 victory.
The boys Firsts continued their good form with a 93-63 victory against St Pauls and the under-17s also beat St Pauls 59-11.
In the under-15A match it went right down the wire with a 34-33 victory right on the buzzer.
Peter Donali's shot a three pointer right on the buzzer of extra time to get his team over the line.
The 15Bs faced Oakhill and came away with a 26-11 win.
The 14Bs and 13As defeated St Pius and St Pauls respectively with 31-14 and 43-14 wins.
There were two teams however who were not as fortunate.
The under-14As went down 41-27 to St Pauls and the 13Bs lost 45-24 to St Pius.
There were no winners for Chev in softball, with all three teams going down.
The Open Firsts and Junior As faced local rivals Oxley and lost 23-8 and 6-1 respectively.
The Junior Bs went down 18-5 to St Pauls.
In cricket the under-14 and under-16 matches were washed out but the Firsts and seconds still managed to get on the field, with both teams coming away victorious.
The Firsts defeated St Pius while the Seconds downed Scots School to claim the points.
