There is no doubt who will be the Southern Highlands' favourite for the Gilmore Sports Awards finals next month, with the loudest applause for the evening going to disabled swimmer Daniel Rumsey at the Region One Gilmore Sports Awards on Saturday night.
Rumsey claimed the Region One Elite Sportsman award for the 16-18 age group at Ranelagh House at Robertson after a phenomenal year in the pool saw the 17-year-old win six gold medals and three silver medals at the Down Syndrome International Swimming Championships in Ireland.
