THE Bundanoon Rebels womens teams continued their winning streak last weekend, with Bundanoon A cementing their position on the top of the table and Bundanoon B positioning themselves for a place in the finals.
Both teams recorded strong wins. Bundanoon A beat Spirit B 5-1 while Bundanoon B pumped Mittagong 5-0.
In another important game for the Rebels, the under-11s defeated Bowral 7 - 0, a win that helped them move up the table.
Coach Dennis Day said the team had been focusing and training hard, and that improvements were easy to see on the field.
“Some great passes and controlled ball skills saw the Rebels quickly move into the lead with goals from Griffin Turner, Killian McKay (who managed to seal his first hat trick for the season) Mitchell Day and Reece Cole,” Day said.
“Although the elevens had a slow start to the season with four draws in a row, they are now coming together nicely and have all set their sights on trying to get into the semi-finals.
“I’m pleased with the improvements across the board and the new players are starting to find their feet and positions on the field which suit them.
“All the team should be proud of their progress.”
In other results for the Rebels, the under-12 Bundanoon girls beat Gib Gate 3-0 on forfeit, the under-13s Bundanoon had a bye, under-16s Bundanoon drew with Chevalier A 1-1, men’s first grade lost 5-0 to Exeter and third grade lost to Chevalier 1-0.
