Bushrangers have last laugh

18 Aug, 2009 07:47 AM
ONE day after losing the minor premiership to Exeter, Yerrinbool-Bargo pumped a bagful of goals into the minor premier’s net to claim the Darryl Kill Cup at Boronia Park.

Played until clear blue skies, the Bushrangers strike weapon Trevor Dinham put them up 2-0 inside the first 15 minutes, before another goal before the break to Ben Miller [pictured] made it 3-0 at halftime.

Yerrinbool dominated the second half in the same fashion as the first with more goals to Miller, super-sub Brian Dunk and Tim Naylor, to spoil Exeter’s minor premiership party.

The trophy, Yerrinbool’s second of the season, maintains their dream of winning the treble in 2009, with only the first grade championships still up for grabs.

The two teams meet again in the major semi-final this weekend, with Exeter needing to erase memories of yesterday’s thumping if they are to have any chance of overcoming the Bushrangers.
