Bushrangers back on top

30 Jun, 2008 09:30 AM
The Yerrinbool-Bargo Bushrangers are back on top of the first grade ladder following another convincing win on Saturday.

The Bushrangers beat Mittagong 4-1, but Mittagong were right in the game for the first 45 minutes.

Yerrinbool-Bargo capitalised on a poor second half from the green and golds, to gain their sixth win of the season.

Dan Allport opened the scoring for Mittagong 10 minutes into the game with a smart move.

He could have put Mittagong ahead 2-0 soon afterwards with a chip kick over Yerrinbool goalkeeper Lindsay Macdonald, but it went wide, according to Mittagong player-coach Hus Husseyin.

The Bushrangers equalised midway through the half to make it 1-1 at halftime.

We love to hear about different sporting activities in the Highlands or people that represent the Highlands so send your ideas to sport.highlandnews@ruralpress.com
