The best way to snap a losing streak and get your season back on track is to knock over the league leaders. That's exactly what Bowral did in their 2-1 win over Robertson-Burrawang at Stephens Park on Saturday.
Bowral ended a three-game losing streak in a close affair.
"We probably got the three points through a determined team effort where the players were hungry for a win," Bowral captain Andy Bell said.
“The match throughout ebbed and flowed with both sides having periods of dominance.”
Bowral opened the scoring from a monster Christian Lotter long throw-in which was flicked on from Glen Shelton and headed home by John Bova.
Robertson retaliated straight away and won a penalty which was well converted by Damien Plain to level the score 1-1- at the break.
Lotter almost put Bowral up 2-1 after halftime but Robertson were saved by the post.
Some more consistent attacking play saw a fantastic Warwick Turpin cross headed home by Mark Screen to put Bowral ahead 2-1.
