WINGELLO have the edge after the first day's play against Moss Vale/Bundanoon with a 29 run lead.

The Tigers won the toss and elected to bat first, with Corey Webber leading the way with 23.

Trent Hawksley also made runs with both players dropped on 0 by Moss Vale and went on to put on 50 odd runs between them.

Zac Clewett and Matt Jay both took two wickets for Moss Vale.

Wingello were bowled out for 88 but stepped it up with the ball in hand to dismiss Moss Vale for just 66.

Shane Martin top scored for the combined side with 18, followed by Ricky Doyle (14).

It was Tim McAndrew who did the damage for Wingello taking five wickets.

At the end of play, Wingello were 0-7 in their second innings, and Moss Vale skipper Cameron Smith said it was the dropped catches that hurt them.

"They held all their catches. Hopefully we can roll them for as little as possible," he said.

"There's still a chance of an outright if we bowl and bat well."

Smith said they needed early wickets this Saturday, with Shane Robson and Hawksley the danger men for Wingello.
